MARAC Members-At-Large

TERM OF OFFICE

Four (4) Members-at-Large (also known as At-Large Members) are elected in odd numbered years by the MARAC membership and take office at the conclusion of the Spring Meeting following the election. Each Member-at-Large is elected to a term of two years and can be re-elected.

COMMITTEE APPOINTMENTS AND SERVICE

As required and appointed by the MARAC Chair:

• One Member-at-Large must serve as a member of the Development Committee.
• One Member-at-Large must serve as a member of the Finance Committee.
• One Member-at-Large must serve as a member of the Outreach Committee.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Serves as head of an Ad Hoc committee, or may oversee a special project such as the Disaster Relief Fund. Often, but not necessarily, a Member-at-Large serves as the Parliamentarian.

Serves on MARAC Standing Committees, special committees, and task forces as assigned by the MARAC Chair.

Recruits new members and promotes MARAC at various state and local conferences, workshops, seminars, and academic functions.

Serves as a liaison to other professional state and local organizations and institutions.

Submits annual reports on related activities to the MARAC Chair.

Recommends to the Steering Committee action that MARAC could take to influence national, state, and local developments on matters of archival concern.

Solicits and brings member comments and suggestions to the attention of the MARAC Steering Committee as appropriate.

Performs other duties as assigned by the MARAC Chair.
